The Northern Ireland Health Collective is delighted to share that its Head, Gillian Lewis, has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH).
This Fellowship recognises Gillian’s distinguished career in public health, spanning over 27 years across the NHS in Scotland and the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in Northern Ireland. Her leadership has consistently reflected a deep commitment to advancing health equity and improving outcomes for communities across the region.
In her current role, Gillian leads the Northern Ireland Health Collective a strategic initiative within the CO3 Group that unites VCSE organisations working in health, social care, and community wellbeing. It provides a collaborative platform to amplify the sector’s voice, influence policy, and build partnerships with government and statutory bodies to improve health outcomes across Northern Ireland.
Reflecting on the Fellowship, Gillian said:
“I’m honoured to have been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health. This recognition reflects a career-long commitment to improving public health and tackling health inequalities. I’m grateful to have worked alongside so many dedicated colleagues, partners and communities. Public health is — and always will be — a team effort.”
Valerie McConville, Chief Executive of CO3, added:
“We are delighted for Gillian and that her public health leadership has been recognised through this Fellowship. Her career has been marked by sector expertise, integrity, and a strong commitment to social justice. We’re privileged to have her leading the Northern Ireland Health Collective — a vital initiative to strengthen the voice and impact of VCSE health organisations across Northern Ireland.”
We extend our congratulations to Gillian on this well-deserved honour and look forward to her continued leadership in driving forward collaborative efforts to improve health outcomes across the region.
